Edwin A. (Skip) Vincent

Edwin “Skip” Vincent is a strategic leader, retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General, entrepreneur, and community builder whose life's work has focused on creating opportunities that help people, organizations, and communities thrive.

 

During his 37-year career in the Hawaiʻi Air National Guard and United States Air Force, Skip served in command and senior policy positions around the world, ultimately helping guide strategic planning efforts across the Asia-Pacific region. Along the way, he gained an enduring insight that would shape the next chapter of his work: lasting progress is achieved through trust, cultural understanding, and meaningful human connection.

 

Following his military retirement, Skip founded the Hawaiʻi Pacific Foundation to put those principles into practice. Guided by the belief that cooperation creates stronger outcomes than conflict, he built an organization dedicated to expanding educational opportunities, advancing workforce readiness, preserving cultural values, and fostering economic self-sufficiency. Through a model that connects business success with community investment, the Foundation has supported programs that benefit Native Hawaiian individuals, families, and organizations across Hawaiʻi.

 

Today, as Chairman of Soft Power Solutions New Frontier, Skip continues to advance that vision by cultivating trusted relationships, supporting locally driven solutions, and exploring innovative approaches that strengthen resilience and long-term well-being. Central to his philosophy is the Hawaiian value of pilina—the understanding that meaningful change begins with authentic connection, mutual respect, and shared purpose.
